picture a day: villa general belgrano, argentina

Itinerary for April 1, 2008:

I think this picture pretty much sums up what would have otherwise been a quiet day of reading in the tent.

We need more of this story!

Yes, although there isn´t too much else to tell. We are staying at the Rincon, a ¨conservation¨ hostel with a campground. The grounds spread over 19 hectares, which includes gardens, chickens (eggs available for purchase), ducks, cows (also, milk and yogurt are available), peahens, countless dogs and cats, four horses, and a donkey. The latter has perfected the art of looking pitifully at tourists. A sizable chunk of our time here has been spent reading (often in the tent) and avoiding the gaze of the donkey, who is, in fact, well fed and only appears to beg as some sort of hobby.

It turns out Pancho, the donkey, especially likes cake. They don't even feed him in the summer because between the grass available and what he manages to beg off tourists, he's very well-fed. Smart donkey.
