picture a meal: trivandrum

Basic but clean hotel: 330 rupees. Visit to the zoo and a couple of museums: 85 rupees. Ordering something randomly from a dinner menu that makes everybody in a crowded restaurant crane their necks around to watch you: priceless.

What was it?!? Oh the wonderful food you two must be eating!

I love this, and your previous story of relaxing on the train. Not the picture I had previously held of Indian rail-travel. So Pedestrian, breaking down stereotypes!

I can't believe that you ate that whole thing in one sitting.

What did you order?

It was a type of dosa, a thin bread of rice flour similar to a crepe. There was also a few curries in which to dip pieces of the dosa. Don't worry, despite the presentation, it was hollow and the total amount of food was appropriate for one person.

In the interest of full disclosure, I was the one that actually ordered it first, to my own and other's amusement. I liked it so much Leah ordered one the following evening. She, however, did not finish the entire thing. It was a little too much food for her.
