picture a day: hassan & belur, india

Breakfasting on idly, fermented rice cakes...

Strolling the market to buy snack food...

Busing from Hassan to Belur...

Marveling at the temple gate...

Admiring a thousand year old, or so, statue of Ganesha...

Agreeing to take pictures with India tourists, who clearly don't see Westerns very often...

Studying the complexity...

Exploring another temple within the site...

Being impressed with a dynamic sculpture...

Snacking on bread...

Taking a picture of three pint-sized people, who befriended us...

Lunching on chapathi...

Busing back to Hassan...

Stopping to say, "...okay..." very slowly...

Walking back to the hotel...

Being confronted by a cow on the street...

Making it back to the hotel for a nap...

Finally, having dinner, then moving to a drink shop for bru coffee...

I love this! It works so well on so many fronts. First, I can actually see what you and Leah are seeing; second, I can get a much better sense of the part of the country (though I realize that it is only a small part)you are showing me; third, the chronology inherent in the pictures makes me feel like I just spent the day with you; finally, the captions are highly amusing. Can you do "a day in the life of Leah and David" through pictures in every country?

Thanks! As long as we continue to find internet cafes with reasonably fast connections, we'll continue the picture a day series.
